Author Profile: Michelle![]() Biography »
I spent the first 25 years of my life in various parts of Michigan and recently had an epic road trip adventure across 9 states to take up residence in Seattle. I dig it here so far.
I enjoy diet cherry Dr. Pepper, PBR and improv comedy. I played soccer for my university for 4 years then played a semester of rugby since I had more school once my soccer eligibility was up. I once ran a marathon in Alaska. I've been a sandwich artist, sports reporter, assistant sports editor, hostess at a steakhouse and traveled the US and Canada installing editing and design software in newsrooms. I was laid off from my job at the beginning of the summer and have been trying to find substantial work since then as well as lose this chub I gained having a cubicle job. I have a degree but I still don't know entirely what I want to be when I grow up.
That being said, I think an evening well spent should include beer, lots of laughing and maybe some video games. I love to write and have recently been enjoying plugging into my iPod and going for runs. I have horrible taste in music simply because I dig most of it. Not in that "look how awesome I am I like everything" sort of way, more of the "omg, why do you have Hanson in your iTunes" kind of way.

Michelle: See you later, see you soon… Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 7 January 2010 The holidays sure threw a wrench in my tires with seeing as many people as I could while in Michigan and then flying all over the country, and now here I am with my last post for Chapter 2…thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement! Looking back over this chapter I started around [...]
Michelle: Whoa! There you are! Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 26 December 2009 It is Saturday. I usually post on Thursday. I completely forgot about Getting Healthy until heading to midnight mass with my family on Thursday evening and I haven’t been on a computer since then, so I apologize for that. I haven’t actually been “home” much since I arrived back in Michigan on Monday, but I [...]
Michelle: There’s no such thing as “after” Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 17 December 2009 I am determined to build good habits that will carry me through life. I don’t want to get in shape so I look good for next swimsuit season, or to fit into a bridesmaid dress, or to make an ex-boyfriend jealous, or to impress everyone at a reunion, or any number of things. I just [...]
Michelle: Sugar plums dancing in my head and avocados partying in my tummy Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 10 December 2009 What has two thumbs and joined a gym last Friday? If you answered “a Michelle in Seattle” you would be absolutely correct! I ended up joining a nice little place that requires no contracts, is easy on the budget, is close to home AND includes personal training. Their selection of classes looks pretty rad as [...]
Michelle: “Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.” Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 3 December 2009 While sorting out some family type concerns, realizing I don’t have much direction at the moment career-wise (mostly due to the realization that I CAN DO ANYTHING *gasp*) as well as shoveling the money from my savings into car repairs and debating how much I should take people’s opinions about what I should and should [...]
Michelle: I’m too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 26 November 2009 Hello from Whistler, BC! I am really pushing the Thursday thing, but I had some issues getting these pictures around, whoopsies. Though I am in Canada, we celebrated the US Thanksgiving with some pumpkin pie for dessert after dinner. I am up here with my relatives enjoying some fun in the snow and am looking [...]
Michelle: Baby, I’m back, back, back Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 19 November 2009 My “Getting Healthy” Info 1. As of the beginning of this project, what are your height and weight? Woohoo! Chapter 2! I am still standing tall (…errr…) at just under 5’5″. On the scale I am currently at 180-181. 2. We all know that numbers never give us the big picture. When you think of [...]
When people change your life you remember who they are I'm not saying you were perfect, no one really is But perfection's in perception and it's what you make of it Posted in CH.I, Getting Healthy, Uncategorized on 29 October 2009 Well, here we are…the end of Chapter 1. I had hoped to continue drinking more water and slowly phasing out the soda, find more ways to get moving and be active, make better choices of the food I dropped down my gullet and eventually be able to run 3 miles without having to stop. ONE. [...]
"The heights by great men reached and kept, were not obtained by sudden flight. But they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night." Posted in CH.I, Getting Healthy on 22 October 2009 When I learned to play the flute I remember opening my first music book and nearly fainting when I saw all of the black dots and lines, it seemed impossible that I’d ever understand what that mysterious language was. When I decided to run a marathon with Team in Training I felt nauseous when I [...]
Notch in the belt… Posted in CH.I, Getting Healthy on 15 October 2009 Seriously! One more over! In the “good” direction! **does a lil dance** I weigh the same on the scale (185) but apparently the sit-up and push-up routine has been working. I didn’t get to play any soccer this week because apparently no one needed any subs, but I took some loooooooong walks. Ever been to [...] |
