Biography »

Ashe is a whirlwind of a girl at times, and just relocated back to Wonderlan--erm, New Orleans. I write the fashion & lifestyle blog, dramatis personae, and work full-time in the performing arts. My imp of a kitten, Lottie, is the love of my life. I enjoy television way too much after years of going without, film & film theory, writing. Sometimes I think about getting an arbitrary PhD in English or Poetry for the hell of it. Several years ago I went through Hurricane Katrina, and as a result ended in Indiana. It was beneficial because it gave me an amazing graduate program and was awful because I was put in to the worst physical, mental, and emotional health of my life. Body Stats: Height: 5'7" Weight: ~210-215 lbs. (down from 225 from the last chapter!) Age: 26

By Ashe
Posted in Getting Healthy on 6 May 2010

Oh Getting Healthy, lover, I don’t mean to gyp you with a short post on our last week together. But you see, tomorrow I fly out to see my Beau. And I go out there feeling pretty confident. You see, I got back on track this week– with counting my calories (and boy was I [...]

Ashe, Week 7:
By Ashe
Posted in Getting Healthy on 29 April 2010

Body Stats: Pretty much unchanged, weight approx. 215, waist approx. 42″ Let’s give it up for getting slowly and surely back on track! This past weekend I did the 15 minute warm up from Carmen Electra’s Aerobic Striptease coupled with 5-10 minutes of yoga. Its been my intent all week to make this my new [...]

Ashe, Week 6: Can I Blame Mercury?
By Ashe
Posted in Getting Healthy on 22 April 2010

Dear Gettin’ Healthy, Can I blame Mercury in Retrograde? These past few weeks, I just haven’t been feeling it. My back still hurts every day, even with yoga. But the yoga makes me really sleepy, so I only half-ass it. I haven’t been hitting the Hollygrove or Crescent City Farmer’s Markets… partially due to poor [...]

Ashe, Week 5: The Storm Settles In
By Ashe
Posted in Getting Healthy on 15 April 2010

Dear Getting Healthy friends, I have a confession to make. Tuesday marked opening night of the last play of the season, and because of scheduling, meant a 12 hour workday. I ate Taco Bell for lunch, washed down with Burger King and a cupcake for dinner. You know what? It didn’t feel good. Some of [...]

Ashe, Week 4: Preparing for the Hurricane
By Ashe
Posted in Getting Healthy on 8 April 2010

Measurements & Stats: Nothing’s changed, bijoux! The last school year performance is next week, and I’ll be using it as my “Getting Healthy” testing grounds for the summer (when my schedule will flip, and I’ll be working mostly afternoons & evenings & weekends t for two months). My goal is to remain as healthy as [...]

Ashe, Week 3: Let’s Get Physical!
By Ashe
Posted in Getting Healthy on 1 April 2010

Weight: 210.8 (this morning) You Better Werk! This week I started something new, something I haven’t done in Getting Healthy in the past.  I’m “working out.”  By working out, I mean approximately 10-15 minutes of stretching each morning.  My lower back has been killing me, and so I’ve been starting my morning with a smattering [...]

Ashe: Week 2: All Quiet on the Western Front
By Ashe
Posted in Getting Healthy on 25 March 2010

Weight: 212 (per Wed. morning)  Waist: 42″ (A little rough for wear after work.) It’s amazing, to say the least, what a clear mind & calmness in life can do for your overall mental & physical state. I’ve been running non-stop for so many weeks months, and for the first time, I feel like I [...]

Ashe: Visions of Sugarplums
By Ashe
Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 28 December 2009

Even though Christmas has past, I still have visions of sugar plums dancing in my head.  “Why Ashe Mischief, why are you so excited even though Christmas is over?” you may be asking. It’s because I put the rental deposit down on my dream house!  In that excitement, I fantasize about the glorious ways I [...]

Ashe: There’s No Place Like Home
By Ashe
Posted in CH.II, Getting Healthy on 21 December 2009

“There’s no place like home.” I feel like this could be my motto during Chapter II of Getting Healthy, because so much of my health–emotional, physical, mental–has revolved around this idea of home. “I’ll eat better and be able to cook when I’m in my own place.” “My back will hurt less, and I’ll sleep [...]
